Access to Care
Connects lower income, uninsured, working residents of Summit County to a regular source of health care. Access to Care is not health insurance; it is a program that connects enrollees with health care services volunteered by local health care providers.
Angel Food Ministries
This is a non-profit, non-denominational organization dedicated to providing food relief and contributing to benevolent outreaches in communities throughout the United States. Angel Food Ministries accepts food stamps. Orders paid by credit or debit card may be made on line. Everyone qualifies!
Area Agency on Aging
Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP)
A state and federal partnership that targets uninsured children and pregnant women in families with incomes too high to qualify for most state Medicaid programs, but often too low to afford private coverage. Within Federal guidelines, each State determines the design of its individual CHIP program, including eligibility parameters, benefit packages, payment levels for coverage, and administrative procedures.
InfoLine
Info Line is Summit County's 24-hour community information and referral service, answering 75,000 incoming calls annually to link people in need of services with the providers of such services.
Medicaid
Medicaid is available only to people with limited income. You must meet certain requirements in order to be eligible for Medicaid. Medicaid does not pay money to you; instead, it sends payments directly to your health care providers.
Medicare
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) administers Medicare, the nation's largest health insurance program, which covers nearly 40 million Americans. Medicare is a Health Insurance Program for people age 65 or older, some disabled people under age 65, and people of all ages with End-Stage Renal Disease (permanent kidney failure treated with dialysis or a transplant).

A non-profit neighborhood-based, comprehensive ministry working in the community of South Akron. Our organization was founded in 1968 through the cooperation of four churches in the surrounding area and offers hope in the mist of despair by helping people address short-and long-term needs of the poor in inner city Akron.

Sick Child Care Center
Located just inside the main entrance to the William H. Considine Professional Building, the center accepts mildly-ill children up to 16 years old and is open Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. . The daily charge is $60 per child, and payment is required when the child is checked in. Children are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
